I want to do a blog series on prayer to teach people with autism how to pray. This can be a confusing issue because of some of some of the wording used in the Lord's prayer and other instructions to prayer in the Bible. So I am gonna use pictures that I will search on Google images to do this. So when you come upon a link please click it and it will show you a picture of what I am talking about so that you will better understand it. Also at the end of each blog in this series I'm gonna post a song called "Manifesto" it has the Lord's prayer in the song. I encourage you to please listen to it every time you have read a post in this series. This will help you to memorize it. The Lord's prayer used in the song Manifesto is the King James Version so that is the version I will use to try to teach prayer in this series. The reason this blog is a series this time is that prayer is a very in depth subject and I really want to go as deep as I am able with it so as to help you understand prayer better. I dunno how long this series will be so please just read and enjoy. If you have any questions I encourage you to please ask and I will answer to the best of my abilities. I will admit that I don't know and understand everything but I will do my best to help you in anyway I can. No question you will ask is stupid and I will not talk down to you or anything like that. I firmly believe that the only stupid question is the question that is not asked. Also I will put this disclaimer before every blog in this series. We are gonna do this in baby steps. What I mean by that is we are gonna dissect the Lord's prayer. To put that in another way we are only gonna look at the Lord's prayer only a few words at a time. We are also gonna take a very in depth look at other instructions to prayer in the Bible and I am gonna do my best to teach you how to apply this so that you will better understand and have a better relationship with GOD in prayer. So here we go I hope you enjoy it....
"and he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come." Luke 11:2 KJV. Gonna stop there at Thy kingdom come. What does this mean?? After all Jesus did say that the kingdom of GOD wouldn't come in such a way as to be seen. I'll use the NIV now for this verse. "Nor will people say, 'Here it is,'or 'There it is,' because the kingdom of GOD is within you" Luke 17:21 NIV. So why does Jesus say Thy kingdom come?? Well here He means something different then in the other verse and I'll save the teaching of that verse for another blog. But what He means is that you are asking for the end of the world basically. And it is a good thing to ask for. "umm Jenny" you might say "the end of the world well when it comes bad stuff will happen. The dead will rise and walls will bleed mass hysteria. How can that be good??" That is a good question. Well there is more to the end then just mass hysteria. The end of the world also means that Jesus is coming again to come and get us and take us to Heaven. That is the very basic of it I am not gonna get into it in this blog so I'll save that for another series. SO really at this part in the prayer you are asking Jesus to return. "Jenny when will this day come??" You might ask. Ok good question. Nobody knows the day or the hour even Jesus said this Himself. I'll now use the NIV. "No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father" Matthew 24:36NIV. "Jenny" you might say "Jesus and the Father are One since there is only one GOD so how can the Father know and Jesus not know??" Ok another good question. I really don'tknow I'm sorry. I have asked and the only answer I got is that this is an agreement between the Father and the Son and we just need to accept it. I suggest that you ask your Pastor about this and your Christian friends and listen to all what they have to say. Ok so in your prayers tonight I encourage you to keep calling GOD your Father and use other words for Father and please go to day one of this series for all of my suggestions, keep on telling the Heavenly Father what you think of Heaven and I encourage you to keep up looking up verses about Heaven and use as many different versions of the Bible as you can cause they all word the same stuff differently and some different wording might help you understand Heaven more, keep thanking GOD for Jesus sacrifice and praise Him and ask the Holy Spirit to lead you in worship and then ask for Jesus to come again and do not be afraid there is nothing to fear about the end of the world... GOD bless you... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FWedt-bPzh4&list=PLE30F47CEA108590B&index=109&feature=plpp_video
